Approach
How I work and how it helps
Integrative counselling means that I work flexibly and use a range of different therapeutic techniques depending on what is most helpful for you.My training is in counselling and psychology, and my approaches include person-centred, psychodynamic, attachment-focused, inner child work and narrative therapy. My work is influenced by psychoanalysis as well as spiritual and existential philosophies.

My main approach to therapy is relational and attachment based. This is because we learn about who we are in relationships, and when we struggle in our relationships, it can impact everything else in our lives. We can feel unsure of ourselves, where we fit in or what our purpose is.I believe these issues often stem from our childhood relationships and the environment we emotionally adapted to growing up.Through exploring this in therapy, in a calm and supportive space, we can regain a secure sense of ourselves, our relationships and belonging in our lives.

I also specialise in challenges for those who work supporting others – such as frontline workers, counsellors, therapists, support workers, psychologists and carers.
For some of us, religious and spiritual practices play an important role in our lives. I hold a gentle, welcoming space for a range of beliefs, as well as related difficulties such as feeling spiritually lost, uncertain, conflicted or out of alignment with our beliefs.I have a deep interest in spiritual and existential philosophies and I'm currently undertaking training in contemplative practice.
